Acceleratore SuperB: come tradurre crab waist in italiano

Ciao a tutti,
volevo sapere come pu� essere tradotto correttamente in italiano "crab
waist" in italiano. In particolare mi piacerebbe sapere come tradurre la
frase:

"As it is seen in Fig. 1b, in this case the beta function waist
of one beam is oriented along the central trajectory of the
other one."
