Sbaglio o questa frase non ha senso?

dalla Terra. [...] I dati raccolti permettono di affermare che il buco
nero in questione ha appena 30 anni di vita."

Forse voleva dire che qui ed adesso stiamo osservando com'era 30 anni
dopo la sua formazione, giusto?
