quando si parla di scienza e fede...

Sono rimasto sconvolto da questa posizione aperta in una universita' sotto
la bible belt. La job description completa e' reperibile a

http://sciences.AcademicKeys.com/redirect.php?8579-SC03070122

Estraggo alcuni pezzi:

"The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Lee University seeks
a full-time Physic faculty member."

Evabe', okay. Vediamo che cosa vogliono che uno faccia:

"Duties include teaching courses in Introductory Physics (calc. and/or
trig-based), Astronomy, Physical Science and develop upper level physics
courses with an emphasis on laboratory experiences and practical
applications;"

OK, generico, molto basico. Vediamo le qualifiche:

"Required qualifications include Christian commitment and Community Covenant
lifestyle agreement; doctorate in appropriate field; demonstrated college
teaching ability; ability to develop and mentor students in original
research; ability to integrate Christian faith into course lectures;
post-doctoral experience preferred, but not required"

WHAT??? forse non ho visto bene...specialmente il "post-doctoral experience
not required"...eggia', che basta la fede no? il resto mica
conta...proseguo...

"To help us evaluate your potential role as a member of our university,
please include a completed application, statement of Christian faith
regarding your religious conversion and your Christian commitment, and
statement concerning how you will integrate faith into your subject matter."

O_O

Ma...sono senza parole...ma...a voi pare normale e lecito?? chiedere
addirittura una dichiarazione di "conversione", di commitment, e un
programma di ricerca puntato sull'integrazione di scienza e fede (cristiana
of course)...

Da' noia solo a me?

Bye
